Wendy and Jim were married the first weekend of
September at their family Church in Statesville,
North Carolina. Their reception was held at
the 1812 Hitching Post. Photography and
video services at the Church and at the reception
were covered by Milt Hawes and Wendy Waldron.
Hurricane Katrina had hit the coast two days
before, but the weather in North Carolina couldn't
have been more
perfect.
Wendy's party favors and decorations featured
touches of blue to coordinate with all the
uniforms. Her party favors were bookmarks
with navy ribbons that were tucked into the
napkins. Her centerpiece candles were
wrapped in a navy ribbon.
Wendy and Jim cut their cake with a Marine
sword. The massive cake had four tiers each
decorated with a different pattern accented with
navy dots. One of the patterns repeated
Wendy's dress design. The couple cut the
cake with Jim's sword. Family photos hung on
navy ribbons over the cake table.
Gorgeous late summer lighting, the chicken dance,
and the conga line all added to the fun of Jim and
Wendy's reception.
