Kristy's Wedding

A friend of mine invited my daughter (Morgan) and I over for dinner.  Little did I know that she had also invited another friend for me to meet.  That turned out to be one of the most wonderful things that ever happened to me.  Kevin and I became fast friends.  Of course I had to give him the speech “that I will never get married again”.  We started spending more time together and started including Morgan.

After dating for about 18 months, Kevin and I went on a solo trip to the beach.  I thought Kevin was having a heart attack when he got down on one knee but instead he surprised me by asking me to become his wife.  Of course I said yes and then began the journey of planning our wedding.

My Mom and I searched the internet for special and different wedding spots and found The Hitching Post .  Kevin and I both had been married before so we wanted a special ceremony but wanted it to be about our new family and our friends.

This is when Wendy walked into our lives.  I had no idea of what I wanted, where to begin and had lots of questions.  After walking into Wendy and Patrick’s home and seeing the beauty of their home, I knew I had found the spot.  Wendy had such patience, wonderful ideas and helped us plan our family wedding.  Wendy found vows that we could use that incorporated us becoming a new family.  She found a way to include Morgan in our ceremony by giving her a locket after we exchanged rings.

On the day of our wedding, the grounds were beautiful, the weather was gorgeous and our day was perfect.  Well, okay there was one little glitch, before the ceremony Kevin put my ring and Morgan’s locket in the same pocket.  Yes, they became tied in a knot.  Patrick was so patient while we struggled to untie them but eased all of our tension by saying that we had already tied the knot.

The reception was set up in the dining room and looked so beautiful with all of the antique silver pieces, the romantic lighting, the perfect music playing in the background, the tasty looking food and the wedding cake that just added the final touch.  The cake was delicious and everyone raved about how good the food was.

When you sent us our pictures,  somehow you had found a way to capture every special moment of that day and have brought tears to everyone who has seen them.  Patrick and Wendy, we can’t  thank you enough for making our “simple ceremony” one of the most memorable events in our lives.
