The 1812 Hitching Post is the perfect place for your

lucky enough to marry in the Carolina's only authentic
antebellum plantation dedicated exclusively to weddings and
social events.
Relax and let the Waldron's host your complete ceremony,
reception, rehearsal, or other gathering including award winning
photography with up to two photographers and two videographers,
delicious buffet, and this beautiful setting. Your
ceremony can be held indoors in our chapel or wisteria room or
outside in one of our many romantic locations. Our home is
your home for weddings from two people to 200.
Owned since 1981 by the
Waldrons, the 1812 Hitching Post was the birthplace of four-term
N. C. Lieutenant Governor W. D. Turner in 1865 and was
also owned by North Carolina Senator Columbus Vance Henkel in
the early to mid-1900's. Patrick Waldron, an artist,
designer, and historian, has creatively restored the lovely home
