Click here for history of the 1812 Hitching Post
The 1812 Hitching Post is the perfect place for your unforgettable wedding.  You can be one of the few couples lucky enough to marry in the Carolina's only authentic antebellum plantation dedicated exclusively to weddings and social events.

Relax and let the Waldron's host your complete ceremony, reception, rehearsal, or other gathering including award winning photography with up to two photographers and two videographers, delicious buffet, and this beautiful setting.  Your ceremony can be held indoors in our chapel or wisteria room or outside in one of our many romantic locations.  Our home is your home for weddings from two people to 200.

Owned since 1981 by the Waldrons, the 1812 Hitching Post was the birthplace of four-term N. C. Lieutenant Governor  W. D. Turner in 1865 and was also owned by North Carolina Senator Columbus Vance Henkel in the early to mid-1900's.  Patrick Waldron, an artist, designer, and historian, has creatively restored the lovely home to enhance your wedding celebration.  For more on the history of the home, click here.  To tour the rooms, please click on the links below or call or email for a tour in-person.
