Daniel and I first met 8 years ago in high school,
both was interested in the other but neither one
thought they had the chance. 3 years ago it just
so happened that we were hanging out with the same
people and we got reconnected. We both had just
gotten out of a pretty serious relationship so we
agreed to take it slow and see where it took us.
About a 1 month later and a date to watch lighting
bugs light up a field and we new we were where we
wanted to be, together. We dated and attempted to
take things slow but a heart knows no time so
around our 1 year anniversary, after a wedding
party for his cousin, he proposed, after a lot of
tears I said yes. We didn't set a date right away
we just enjoyed the step we had taken and
considered all of our options. After a few months
of being engaged we decided we were ready to set a
date and get the show on the road, but of course
it's never that simple when it comes to something
that will happen once and you want it to be
perfect. We set a few dates and made some
decisions on where to have everything but nothing
ever went the way we planned. A friend of ours had
told us about the Hitching Post so we decided to
check it out but didn't have our hopes up because
of how many times things hadn't worked out. As
soon as we pulled in the drive we both agreed that
this was it, this was where we would become
husband and wife. My mother and I met with Wendy
and discussed what I wanted and booked us for the
date. Wendy was wonderful, I changed my mind a
million times and she just went with the flow, but
most importantly she knew how much this day meant
to me and she did everything she could to make it
perfect, and it was. What better place to start
your life with someone than and 1812 plantation
home that has had many many years of love begin
and travel through, and having someone like Wendy
to help guide you through all of the madness just
makes it even better. I could go on and on forever
about how perfect everything was but there isn't
enough time in a day. Our wedding day is something
that neither one of us will forget and we can say
honestly that it was perfect, just like a fairy
tale.
